Privacy Notice

Mogran is a reviewed network for Sudanese people around the world. This notice explains what information the private beta collects, why it is used and the choices available to members.

Information Mogran collects

• Account information, including your name, email address and authentication records.
• Profile information you provide, including country, city, professional fields, biography, offers and needs, plus optional state or province, descriptors, photo, specific context, and social or portfolio links.
• Content you submit, including discussion posts and photos, opportunities, discussion replies, organizations, events and event photos, connection notes, private messages, and private introduction requests.
• Learning Center records, including resources you suggest and your private saved, in-progress, or completed status. Mogran does not receive your activity on an external learning provider.
• Your private current-goal choice and whether you have completed a small set of meaningful Mogran actions. This supports relevant recommendations and is not used for a public score or leaderboard.
• Private Ambassador applications, review responses, scoped assignments, and invitation attribution associated with an active Ambassador role.
• Administrative records needed to review profiles and submissions, communicate private reviewer notes, verify organization ownership claims and Help Sudan listings, manage recognition and protect the service.
• Invitation attribution when an applicant joins through a member’s private invitation link. This helps authorized admins understand how an application reached Mogran and is not shown in the public member directory.
• Spotlight text, links, submitted images and consent confirmation when a person or authorized organization representative requests or agrees to a public feature.
• In-app notification records, such as approval notices, Circle replies, learning suggestion decisions, and private introduction status changes.
• Product feedback you submit, including bug details, feature suggestions, optional screenshots, the related Mogran page path, review status, and private team responses.
• A daily member check-in date when an approved member opens Mogran Today. This is used to measure aggregate 7-day and 30-day retention without storing browsing history in the member database.
• Basic technical records created by the hosting and authentication providers for security, reliability and abuse prevention.
• First-party web analytics such as pages visited, referral source, approximate region and device or browser category. Mogran uses Vercel Web Analytics for this reporting without advertising trackers.

Country, state or province, and city choices use place names and identifiers from GeoNames. Profile applications require selecting a listed city so member matching and location filters work consistently. Mogran stores the location detail you choose to share and does not request GPS coordinates.

Why the information is used

Mogran uses this information to create and secure accounts, review applications, operate the member directory, provide community and curated learning features, administer scoped Ambassador responsibilities, attribute member invitations, deliver relevant notifications, moderate submissions, arrange requested introductions, verify public directories, understand aggregate product use and retention, respond to support requests and improve the private beta.

Who can see your information

Your approved member profile, including the social links you choose to add, discussion content, opportunities, events, and approved learning suggestions are visible only to approved Mogran members and authorized admins. Verified organization pages, approved Shop Sudanese listings and seller photos, verified Help Sudan listings and consented Mogran Spotlights are public and may be indexed or shared outside Mogran. Private reviewer notes, learning progress, Ambassador applications, and product feedback, including feedback screenshots and internal team notes, are limited to the relevant member and authorized admins as applicable. Your current-goal choice is private to your account; admins receive aggregate activation counts rather than a member leaderboard. Active Ambassador labels and agreed scope may appear to approved members, but Ambassadors do not receive access to private member information merely because of that role. Your account email is not displayed unless you choose to include it in a contact field. Connection notes are visible to the two relevant members, and messages become available only after a connection is accepted. Introduction requests remain private to you and authorized admins, and are shared with a potential match only when your permission allows it.

Service providers and international processing

Mogran uses Supabase for authentication and database services, Vercel for application hosting and privacy-friendly product analytics, and Resend for transactional account and service emails. Resend processes only the recipient and message information needed for those deliveries. These providers may process information outside your province or country under their own security and privacy commitments. Mogran does not sell member information.

Retention and security

Information is kept only as long as reasonably needed to operate the beta, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and protect the service. Incomplete profile progress is saved to your Mogran account so you can continue on another device. Unfinished public-post, profile, and feedback forms may also be saved temporarily in your browser so a short interruption does not erase your work. Feedback screenshots are stored in private, access-controlled storage. Private messages and introduction requests are not stored as local drafts. Access controls, Row Level Security, moderation controls and encrypted provider connections are used to reduce risk. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can update your profile and current Mogran goal at any time. Email preferences let you turn optional activity alerts on or off; Mogran suppresses repeat private-message emails while a conversation remains unread. You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, withdraw optional Spotlight consent or raise a privacy concern by emailing hello@joinmogran.com. Withdrawing Spotlight consent may remove the feature from Mogran, but copies already shared or indexed outside Mogran may remain. Some records may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention or legal obligations.

Age requirement

The private beta is intended for people who are at least 18 years old. Mogran does not ask for or need your full date of birth. A broader youth experience would require separate safeguards before launch.

Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated as Mogran adds features or changes service providers. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email when appropriate.
